After being removed from the breeding herd and spending some time settling into the boma, twelve young Leonidas bulls were released into the bull camp to meet the rest of the bigger bulls. We were able to breathe a sigh of relief, as it was amazingly uneventful, with no fighting or chasing as so often happens. I think having formed a close unit in the boma for a while helped enormously. The oldest bull from our bull herd, Jasper (6 years) actually walked into the boma for a mud bath before the young bulls walked out of the boma. He didn’t seem to even acknowledge their existence.
